Negombo – Anuradhapura - (Travel time : approx. 4 – 5 hrs)
After breakfast at Hotel- Leave for the cultural city of Anuradhapura- Pm- Tour of the city. Optional : Escorted Bicycle tour of the city
Anuradhapura : the first capital city, dates back to 380 BC, lay deserted in the dry zone of Sri Lanka. The city ruled by 113 kings is the birthplace of Buddhism and the Sinhala civilization.

Anuradhapura - Sigiriya - Dambulla
After breakfast at Hotel- Leave for Sigiriya- climb rock fortress.
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress : It is (considered the 8th wonder of the world ) also called the ‘fortress in the sky’ or ‘Lion rock’ , rising 200 metres above a forested plain. It is now believed to be the palace of King Ravana (the demon king from the famous legend the Ramayana tale) long before it was made the palace and fortress of King Kasyapa in the 5th Century AD.
Pm -leave for Dambulla – visit Cave temple.
Dambulla cave temple : st declared a world heritage site by Unesco, is one of the largest and well preserved cave temples in Sri Lanka comprising of numerous murals and Buddha statues.

Dambulla - Polonnaruwa - Dambulla
Breakfast at Hotel- leave for Polonnaruwa- Explore the medieval capital. Pm-proceed to Dambulla for overnight stay.
Polonnaruwa : It was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated Chola Invaders in 1070 to reunite the country once more under a local leader. It was the second capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th century AD, after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993.

Dambulla - Matale - Kandy
Breakfast at Hotel- leave for Kandy- enroute make a short stop in Matale, visit Aluvihara. Proceed to Kandy- Afternoon- Visit the sacred Dalada Tooth temple. Evening you will watch a cultural show, by Kandyan dancers and drummers, followed by a fire-walking display.
Optional : visit to a Spice garden.
Kandy : It is the second largest city in Sri Lanka after Colombo. It was the last capital in the Central province of the last king of Kandy. It was subjected to several attacks by the Portuguese and later the Dutch invaders (who were ruling the coastal areas) but were successfully repelled.

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Breakfast at Hotel- leave for the cool climes of NuwaraEliya- You will be passing through some of the panoramic mountains, valleys and some exotic waterfalls enroute surrounded by Tea plantations.
Nuwara Eliya : “The center of the hill country also called the “Hill station” in British colonial jargon. This ruggedly picturesque location almost 6200 feet in elevation with it’s soft English spring climate is very English in it’s landscape & buildings; which of course was started by the British, who made it their hill resort, during their rule in Sri Lanka. ” You will visit a fully operating Tea plantation and a Tea factory and have the rare opportunity of your lifetime to taste a fine ‘Cup of original flavoured Sri Lanka Tea’ produced from the same tea plantation.
Overnight stay in Nuwara EliyaNuwaraeliya - Tangalle - Galle
After breakfast at Hotel- leave for Galle- via Tangalle. This is a long scenic drive- enroute you will pass the fishing village of weligama where you will see the Fishermen on stilts. Further down you will pass the sensational Hummaniya blow hole- On arrival in Galle- visit the Galle Dutch Fort-
Galle Dutch Fort : Declared a LIVING world heritage site by UNESCO. The Portuguese came to Galle in 1505, followed by the Dutch in 1640.
